Experiencing and appreciating a good wine is a pleasure and an act of culture, awareness and gratitude towards the land, its fruits, its cultivators.
Francesco Serafini and Antonello Vidotto, oenologists and farmers, founded the winery in 1986 at Nervesa della Battaglia, under the ruins of the Abazia (old Abbey), a place where between 1551 and 1555 Monsignor della Casa had written il “Galateo”, on the territory of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, which has ever since been famous for its red wines.
Dynamic and extrovert, he is the public face and communicator of the wine farm. Wine is his passion: the oenologist, connoisseur, expert vine-grower, cellarer are combined in him. His usual statement is proverbial: supported by the success of the wines, he affirms that the conditions necessary to achieve a quality vine-growing not related with the use of non-local vines do not exist in his area. Today, with the same impulsiveness, he was able to impose a new challenge, with a local vine: the Recantina.?Over the years, he dedicated himself more often than his partner to the cellar and to external relations, acting as a spokesman.
The soul of the vineyard, the expert cultivator. Thanks to his work and passion, wine, lands and varieties have grown in twenty years.?With his less volcanic character compared to his friend, partner and schoolfellow, with whom he shares the deep love for the product of the vineyards, he acts as a catalyst of hard and intelligent work that strengthens the basis of a great Venetian wine, of a great Italian cellar.
