Vini d’Italia Slow Food/Gambero Rosso (together until edition of 2009)

Over 1,000 pages of reviews among over 2,300 cellars and 20,000 wines, over 45,000 wine tastings with our wine. Plenty information about wine-producing activity, such as annual production, number of cultivated hectares and type of wine cultivation.

Assessment system

Each wine obtains a score according to the famous "glass" system, which contemplates simple signalling, minimum acknowledgement, or matching with One, Two or Three Glasses, in an increasing quality.

The Ultimate Guide to Italian Wines

As its name suggests, the Doctor Wine Guide seeks essentiality and is therefore very strict in its selection of the wineries reviewed. It is not the encyclopaedic collection of the greatest possible number of wines tasted (and wineries evaluated) but rather a careful selection, to the point that the very presence of a producer and its wines in the Guide is a sign of indisputable quality.

- 2,168 wines rated from 1 to 100, of which 198 were awarded the Doctor Wine “little face” (rating from 95 to 100), the best wines of the year

Slow Wine - Slow Food Editore

It is Italy’s most important wine guide, published by Slow Food Editore.
A great publishing success that is consolidating every year; a book to get to know in detail the Italian wine word with a focus on sustainability which is unique among wine guides.
The strength of the volume is the rigor with which the awarded wineries and the wines are chosen: the wineries nominated for the most prestigious prizes cannot use chemical herbicides in the vineyards.
Monitoring of production methods is possible because Slow Wine is the only guide in the world that visits all the listed wineries each year.

Wineries scoring system:

chiocciola (snail) for being in concordance with Slow Food
bottiglia (bottle) for the excellent average quality of the wines presented at the tasting
moneta (coin) good value for money up wines presented at the tasting

great wine: excellent wine under organoleptic profile
everyday wine: good value for money wine up to 10 €

Duemilavini - Bibenda

The guide book to wines of Italy edited informally by the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers.
In addition to presenting the companies with their wines, it considers the territory and, region by region, indicates the Doc and the Docg, the Dop and Igp products.

Assessment system

In Bunches, from 2 to 5: 2 Bunches, from 74 to 79 cents, average quality wines and pleasant make; 3 Bunches, from 80 to 84 cents, good quality wines and special refinement; 4 Bunches, from 85 to 90 cents, high quality wines of striking value; 5 Bunches, from 91 to 100 cents, excellent wines.

I Vini di Veronelli

The vademecum named after and inspired by Luigi Veronelli, a big name who passed away in 2004. This handbook reviews the “good vine-dressers” of Italy and Canton Ticino. The personal details and the names of the owner, oenologist and agronomist are indicated as well as the list of the best wines produced (cru, elevation, suggested vintages, bottles produced, prices).

Assessment system

In Red Stars (1 good wine; 2 very good; 3 excellent), the assessment results in time.
In cents, the results of a single tasting, nearly always of the last vintage being marketed.
The “sole” (sun) is awarded by wine tasters to 20 wines that have thrilled, surprised or pleased them during the course of the year, beyond the points of wine tasting.

Since 1991, Gambero Rosso publishes a guide to wines with good value for money.

This year they awarded 773 labels worth tasting.

Vitae. The 2015 Wine Guide by AIS (Associazione Italiana Sommelier – Italian Sommelier Association)

The latest publication of the Italian Sommelier Association gives a portrait of companies, providing the important detail of every producer. It also describes 10,000 wines, paired with as many dishes, produced by approximately 400 companies that have obtained the “four grapes”.

50 wines that changed Italy

Gambero Rosso, November 2006: number 178, year 15 of the magazine.

A historical edition because Gambero Rosso declares that it is fond of 50 great Italian wines, after a persistent courting for 20 years and nourished by the tasting of the commissions in charge of drawing up the guide.
The book includes the wines that obtained several times the three glasses and, numbers being equal, the best average in cents relating to the prize-awarded years.
50 selected wines out of more than 200 thousand tastings: if there exists the top of the Italian oenology, this is it.

Number 20 shows a wine that, according to the writers-compilers, “has always been a marvel”: Rosso dell’Abbazia Serafini & Vidotto.

Bandiera Verde Agricoltura 2011 (Green Flag of Agriculture 2011)

This is the reward given by CIA (Italian Confederation of Farmers) which from the year 2007 onwards and on a national level has been assigned to regions, provinces, districts, mountain districts, parks and - in this case - farms that have been particularly active regarding the protection of the environment and landscape, also regarding tourism, reasonable use of the soil, appreciation of typical products of the territory, activities oriented to improve the living circumstances of farm workers and citizens in general.
